Digital Media Manager

At Exa Futures, we have a mission to lead the way in digital communication through data-science insights. We do this with two teams: one which focuses on the development of technologies to build an interests-based graph about the world’s interests (i.e., CircleMe), and one which helps customers best deploy their digital communication strategies (i.e., Digital Media Team).

Lately, more and more customers believe in our way to provide services related to digital media marketing, and for this reason we need to strengthen our Digital Media team. In this team, we seek a motivated leader to take the role of Digital Media Manager.

You will work closely with the rest of the Exa Futures team, helping build and grow our Digital Media team. Our team is small, dedicated, multi-cultural and enthusiastic! We work hard, but because we really like and believe in what we are building.

Primary location for this role is in MILAN (Italy). Remote working is welcome, alternating with office presence, which we believe helps build a great team spirit.


Operating as an Digital Media Manager at Exa Futures you can expect to:

  • Have a key impact on company operations and business, reporting directly to the CEO
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Clients
  • Participate in strategic evolution of the company’s business
  • Determine best plan-of-action for each client’s communication project
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Product Team
  • Manage and optimize running media campaigns for highest ROI.
  • Manage a monthly media budget of up to €30,000-€50,000/month.
  • Negotiate and launch media buying campaigns.


    • Bachelor Degree in Economics, Marketing or another field with relevant experience in the online media or advertising industry
    • At least 2-3 years of experience in online advertising and media buying
    • Entrepreneurial attitude
    • Sincere interest in digital advertising
    • Solid understanding of the following platforms: Google Ads, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads
    • Understanding of digital platforms for tracking and optimization of digital communication campaigns
    • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to study data patterns. Hands on experience with data elaboration and presentation via Excel
    • Excellent verbal and written command of the Italian and English language
    • A team–player with positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
    • You have to be pro-activefast learnerdetailed oriented, able to work under stress, comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • Experience in budgetinglaunching and monitoring campaigns at scale (€10,000s/month)
    • Robust businessbudgetary and negotiation skills. Motivated and results-oriented
    • Preferred account management experience

Back-End Developer

We are looking for a very talented back-end engineer to work on our award-winning consumer service CircleMe and the many data-science technologies we develop at Exa Futures.

At Exa Futures, we have a mission to create the most valuable interest-based network available on the web (CircleMe) and to be leaders in data-science related to people’s interests in life.

To do this, we firstly need to offer a great product to our user, powered by sophisticated technologies and performance-enhancing algorithms, allowing consumption of content related to people’s passions and facilitating the discovery of new interests through intelligent and automated recommendations. Secondly, we need to have strong intelligence systems that know how to interpret the huge amount of data we process.

Your responsibilities at Exa Futures will be to:

  • Work with CEO of the company to determine the best strategic evolution of Exa Futures’ technology
  • Collaborate with product, front-end engineering, mobile development and operations to define clear requirements, deliverables, and milestones for new features to launch (for either the consumer product or the business services and data analysis tools)
  • Design, test, develop, and deploy production-ready features to be implemented on the business platforms and on the consumer product
  • Ensure overall operations’ systems stability and improving performance


    • 3+ years experience developing application features and building back-end infrastructures in a production environment
    • 2+ years experience writing and maintaining code in an dynamic language such as Ruby, Perl, PHP, Python, etc.
    • Knowledge of the Java programming language and ecosystem
    • 1 year experience developing in the Rails framework
    • Good knowledge of Linux, or similar systems
    • experience in using SCM/VCS (knowledge of GIT preferable)
    • familiarity with AWS (AmazonWebServices), Heroku and GitHub
    • ability to work with relational databases, SQL, MySQL
    • familiarity with Javascript, Ajax, Angular, JQuery, and CSS
    • ability to effectively interact with product managers and other organizational units such as UI designers and front-end developers
    • demonstrated self management ability to organize yourself through the completion of all phases of a major project
    • familiarity with Agile Methodologies, including SCRUM
    • strong understanding of the server side performance, reliability and cross-platform compatibility aspects
    • ability to work in a fast paced, test-driven collaborative and iterative programming environment
    • understanding of cross-site scripting (XSS) and other client-side vulnerabilities.
    • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience
    • Proficiency in English
