Changing perspective for the good of the planet
Prospettiva Terra is a non-profit project created by companies that have decided to tackle global warming together through technology and science for a truly sustainable future.
The first initiative involves the installation of 300 IoT-Internet of Things sensors on the trees of BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi in Milan, developed by Stefano Mancuso and Pnat (a spin-off of the University of Florence). These sensors will allow a series of real-time information to be collected on the plants, from their state of health to the benefits they produce for the community.
Scientific curator and co-founder of the project is Stefano Mancuso, academic, founder of plant neurobiology and populariser.
Narrating the project
In such a historical moment, where the consequences of the climate crisis are increasingly evident, narrating such an ambitious project was a major challenge for the ExaFutures Design and Development team.
The main requirement from the beginning was to build a clear narrative around the density of information available. The goal: to convey Prospettiva Terra’s mission in a simple and immediate way to give credibility to the project among stakeholders and the community.
The technology
The technological infrastructure of the site is based on React, a technology that allowed us to design pages independently according to communication needs. The illustrations were integrated in svg and with CSS we realised fluid micro-animations. The back-end platform was realised in WordPress.
The design
To make the communication distinctive, we enriched the narrative with a set of illustrations with a minimalist yet bright and colourful style, effective in generating a recognisable ecosystem. Contrasting with the dark background, they contribute to an elegant look and feel that effectively supports the nature of the project.
